Learn to Hit Like the Pros
NC Baseball Academy integrates the Right View Pro Hitting System and Rapsodo technology to help players of all ages and skill levels master efficient swing mechanics. The Right View Pro system emphasizes the eight key moves shared by successful Major League hitters. While hitters may develop their own styles, the core mechanics remain consistent across advanced levels of play.
Through extensive study of these movements, NC Baseball Academy has designed a training approach that ensures players can adapt quickly and elevate their performance. Combining this with Rapsodo's analytics platform provides in-depth feedback on key metrics, enhancing each player’s ability to make meaningful improvements.
What to Expect During a 1-on-1 Hitting Lesson
Please arrive a few minutes early to start stretching. Your coach will talk with you before the appointment starts
First-time lessons will hit a few balls off the tee and go through a mechanics assessment/breakdown, possibly including:
- Video analysis
- Mirror work
- Slow-motion dry reps
Then it’s time to do the work! You and your coach will:
- Focus on creating and maintaining sound swing hitting positions
- Go through a tee series, controlled soft toss, and live-arm overhand BP
- Develop an approach that helps you compete in the games!
As you do more lessons, you will also address:
- Driving the ball to all parts of the field
- Awareness of the strike zone and how to cover the entire zone
- How to adjust to exceptionally fast, and exceptionally slow pitching
- Handling offspeed pitches, and using the count to anticipate when they’re coming
- Handling game situations – hitting with runners in scoring position
- Adjusting your approach when you’re behind in the count
- “Every Pitch” focus and strategies to regain that focus.
- Rapsodo Data collection and what the numbers mean (with Jeff Guerrie only)
What to bring to a hitting lesson:
- Turf shoes or tennis shoes – something that laces up
- A bat and batting helmet
- Batting gloves if you want them
- Dress comfortably – our cages are indoors and turfed
