Scott Bankhead’s Baseball Pitching Academy at North Carolina Baseball Academy is an intensive pitching development program designed for high school pitchers who want to gain a competitive advantage.
This program combines professional-level instruction, proven training techniques, advanced technology, and individualized coaching to help pitchers become stronger, more explosive, more efficient, and better prepared to compete.

WHAT YOU’LL TRAIN

Velocity Development
Train to improve throwing velocity through proper mechanics, arm-speed development, strength training, mobility, and a structured throwing program.
Weighted Ball & Band Training
Learn the proper use of weighted balls and resistance bands as part of a comprehensive arm-care and throwing program.
Mobility
Improve mobility in critical areas that directly affect the pitching delivery, including the ankles, hips, and shoulders.
Strength & Explosive Power
Develop the strength and power required to produce and maintain velocity, with an emphasis on:
– Shoulder and elbow strength
– Core strength
– Lower-body power
– Medicine ball training
– Explosive movement
Flexibility
Improve shoulder and hip flexibility to help create a more efficient, athletic pitching delivery.
Pitch Design & Rapsodo Technology
Use Rapsodo pitching technology to better understand how your pitches perform. Learn to evaluate important metrics including:
– Velocity
– Spin rate
– Movement patterns
– Spin efficiency
Players will learn how these numbers relate to pitch effectiveness and how to use objective data to improve their arsenal.
Pitching Mechanics
Improve pitching mechanics to create a more efficient delivery and better transfer strength, athleticism, and arm speed into usable velocity on the mound.
Arm-Speed Development
Perform targeted drills designed to improve arm speed, throwing efficiency, and overall pitching performance.

Camper Safety & Rules
  • NO HAZING of other campers
  • NO HORSE PLAY or Fighting Allowed
  • Respect other campers equipment and gear
  • NO TEASING of others
  • Be on Time
  • Wear Batting Helmets when hitting at all times.
  • Put YOUR Equipment in your BAG
  • When Throwing- eye contact is a must!
  • Only throw balls and swing bats when instructed
  • Have FUN, Listen and Work Hard! Most important Rule
  • Comfortable Dress. Shorts or Baseball Pants (Pants may be preferred as players may want to slide into bases during the games)
  • Tennis Shoes and Baseball Cleats
  • Baseball Hat/sunscreen
  • Any baseball equipment that you would normally bring to a game
  • Drink is optional. Water will be provided.
  • Any Snack you may need
  • Batting Gloves if necessary
  • Any medicine you may need. See Camp Director if special directions are needed.

NC Baseball Academy welcomes parents, grandparents and friends to all our camps to watch your child participate. Our baseball fields have bleachers and plenty of protective fencing to keep you safe. Warning: Sometimes batted balls or thrown balls make their way over these fences so extreme caution should be taken to stay safe at all times. Stay fully behind a fence and enjoy the excitement of watching your ballplayer!
